Monday Free Write Question
I have recently met someone who is very cynical and usually shuts himself off from the world. He'll tell me he's not willing to love anybody or feel any kind of emotion for fear of falling in too deep. And I am wondering how many other people are like this? And why would anybody shut off their willingness to love? It's like....having a superpower you don't use. It's sad.

It is like having a super power you dn't use. Life is full of upsets, anger, hate, revenge, lonliness, happines, and many other things. But shutting yourself from the world will make it worse and you will be so sad that nothing seems fun or exciting anymore. Sorry, that was really depressing. I think I'll go curl up in a ball in a corner and whimper now. But before that I will say this, I have wanted to shut myself from the world because of how lonly I was. But good friends came to help me. Then once I was better they blew me off like a bug but without all the screaming that would occur if I were a bug.I became lonly again but not as lonly as before.
